Update Frequency and Triggers

Scheduled reviews

Every page is reviewed on a minimum annual cycle. The review schedule is maintained internally and entries in this log are updated following each review.

Triggered reviews

The following events trigger an immediate out-of-cycle review of affected pages:

  • A Supreme Court, Court of Appeal, Court of Session, or High Court decision that materially affects the law of clinical negligence
  • An amendment to the Limitation Act 1980, Prescription and Limitation (Scotland) Act 1973, or Limitation (Northern Ireland) Order 1989
  • A change to the Lord Chancellor's discount rate in any jurisdiction
  • Publication of a new edition of the Judicial College Guidelines
  • Significant update to a NICE guideline referenced on the site
  • A change in NHS Resolution, CLO, or HSCLA policy or procedure that affects the claims process described on the site
  • Identification of a material error in any page

What triggers a "Changes Made" entry

A "Changes Made" note is added whenever a review results in a material change to the legal information on a page — for example, updating a statutory reference, adding a new case citation, correcting a figure, or revising a description of procedure. Routine reviews that confirm content remains current and accurate result in an updated "Last Reviewed" date with "No material changes — content confirmed current" in the Changes column.
